This family is the richest and most powerful family in the city of Hookridge. The father rules the city in an Autocratic fashion – controlling both the powerful militia (including a standing army and the city guard), and the two largest temples (Ptah and Horus).

The Draytons believe strongly that the old houses deserve to own the new Backbone and have resisted (and outright defied) the will of Rathwyn, who wishes to see a more egalitarian power-sharing arrangement.

Agatha bore a total of five children, all of them daughters. The eldest, Grace, is now 20 years old and has not yet been married (or even promised). It is rumored that the mother is refusing to agree to any marriage – leaving the Drayton inheritance uncertain.
