Clear out the upper level of the Pagoda. Kill the Yak Folk leaders and the “Sehan Abomination” they created. Since the party needs to recuperate, they bar themselves in the abomination's chamber on the hope that the Yak Folk won't risk entering that room. Their plan works and they spend the night undisturbed.

During the night, Heilli hears a persistent psychic rambling from elsewhere in the Pagoda. Through the muddled phrases and partial sentences, he hears a number of prophetic statements.

The next day, Ketamine uses her Detect Poison spell to locate the remaining vials of “Sehan” on this level. At the same time, they discover a vast amount of silver – which she casts Shrink Item on to make it portable.

While discussing how to ensure that there is no more “Sehan” substance on the unexplored levels, they are surprised by Didrik, one of Kevin Arcana's “Arcane Defenders”. He tells the party the following:

  • His mission was to learn about the Yak Folk's gate
  • He knows where it is (room 18) and how to destroy it
  • He has delayed his mission to learn what he can from the library
  • He is currently searching for something called “The Charm of Making”
  • He believes the charm was used by the Yak Folk to create the gate
  • He is confident that there is no “Sehan” substance on the lower levels

The party then helps Didrik destroy the gate. He then returns to Neroth by using a teleport gem. Since the party's primary mission is complete – and further exploration would be too risky (for too little gain), the party opts to leave.
