Lowland
The former kingdom of Lowland remains uncivilized. It was under the shadow for over eleven years – longer than any other place in the world. While plant life eventually recovered, the animals were not so resilient. Pockets of the region are considered a desert.
The capital city (also called "Lowland") is a necropolis ruled over by the lich Pelham. The surrounding lands are occupied sparsely by orcs and other monsters, but even they consider the land (and especially the city) to be cursed.
Before the wars, Lowland was the second largest country on the northern shore of the main continent. However, it suffered more casualties in the wars than all other countries combined.
Before the wars, Lowland was ruled by a Senate, whose hereditary president was Re Xacnal.
