After our heroes returned to the real world from their fantasy adventures, they had debriefings with members of The Five, except for Lady Paladin, who was called away to Washington DC for “official business”. There was some discussion among the remaining four about some of the actions taking place in the fantasy realm, but nothing decided upon.

Soon after, there was a report of an attack on citizens at the office building next to Lloyd Center. The team heads there, to encounter: * Crybaby Clown, a giant man-baby with a revved up baby buggy and explosive baby bottles * Fright Hound, a robotic dog-beast with terrible sharp jaws * Evil Gnome, a small creature with a paralyzing touch * Dark Lilith, a flying demon-like woman with sharp claws The heroes prevailed, even though Dark Lilith escaped, and Shimmer was alone with her for much of the combat. Afterwards, it was discovered that the Crybaby Clown and the Evil Gnome were just costumes, and those people were hired to rob a diamond importer located in the building. And they had masks on.

After the fight, back at the base, there was big news: the Oregonian reporter Billy Dugan had done enough research to prove that 99 was exactly who he said he was; a person incarcerated since the Civil War. After the Oregonian article was published, it was huge. His books, which were always assumed to be semifictional, started selling in big numbers. Everybody wanted to interview him. Most important, he received an invite to a White House dinner, and to meet President Obama personally.

GM's Notes:

I always thought that JVW's character, a black man in prison for 150 years, would be a huge thing, even in a superhero world. So I gave him a (very) public ID.

Yes, the villains are actual Scooby Doo villains, but I liked them too much.
