Rose City Five Brings Alien Technology to Desalinization Project

Newport, OR

Alien technology is at the center of a project which could bring clean fresh water to thirsty cities and arid deserts throughout the world. Silicon Valley Philanthropist Daniel Dunlap has provided the funding and the Rose City Five the technology for a desalinization plant in Newport, Oregon being built to prove the concept. When complete, the plant is expected to generate 400,000 gallons of fresh water per day, enough to supply a small town, with about a third the energy required for conventional reverse-osmosis technology. The daily power bill for the plant is expected to be just $200.

Once complete, the facility will be opened to charitable foundations, engineering companies and governments worldwide, to encourage the further development of the technology and the construction of larger scale plants. Accredited engineers and scientists are invited to study the plant at no charge and a seminar schedule will be released soon after the plant comes on-line in early March. Patent attorneys are already working in 80 countries to ensure that patent law cannot be used to slow the spread of the technology. A spokesman for the Dunlap Foundation explained, “Energy-efficient desalinization can benefit billions of people, but only if the technology spreads far and wide. To scale this up we'll need all sorts of people and organizations to take part. We're removing every impediment to participation that we can, without discrimination.”

The technology at the core of the plant was provided by the Rose City Five, who obtained the technology from a group of spacefaring aliens. “Desalinization is an important technology galaxy-wide, and we've been fortunate to make friends with alien groups willing to share their methods,” said Rose City Five member Lady Paladin. “For us, this is incredibly rewarding. As superheroes we've captured our share of supervillains and mitigated a few natural disasters, but we think this will have a more lasting impact on the world than anything we've done in costume.”

In addition to providing drinking water for cities in dry climes such as Lima, Los Angeles and Tel Aviv, the technology may also be applied to restore salt-contaminated soils in places such as Iraq and southern California. Other environmental applications are imagined for the process.

The group does not envisage any other projects of this type. “As much as we would love to bring in other technologies, we have been advised that races that develop the key technologies of space flight and advanced energy storage and generation on their own have an easier time making the transition to a spacefaring race. The introduction of too much alien technology too quickly can destabilize societies,” said Lady Paladin. “We chose desalinization as a way to introduce the world to its stellar neighborhood because the negative impact the technology will have on existing economic, political and social groups is clearly far outweighed by the positive impacts it will have throughout the world.”

About the Dunlap Foundation

Founded by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Daniel Dunlap, the foundation has attracted donations from many of the world's most progressive philanthropists. The foundation is best known for financing the activities of the superhero group, The Five, and its several subsidiary super-groups. Further information is available at www.dunlapfoundation.org.

About the Rose City Five
The Rose City Five is the second superhero group funded by the Dunlap Foundation, organized in 2014. Based in Portland, Oregon, the Rose City Five is best known for their central role in the Seattle Incident, and have over a dozen other supervillain fights to their credit. The members include Hex, Shimmer, Lady Paladin, Ninety-Nine and Quantum. Further information is available at www.thentao.com/frp/bezodishero:start.

About the Aliens
Aliens have been visiting Earth throughout history, though their presence has generally been well-hidden. There are several heroes and a few villains that claim alien origins for themselves or the technology they use. The Rose City Five have encountered aliens several times in their adventures. The details have been kept secret for a variety of reasons.

Lady Paladin explains, “It's important for people to understand that aliens have always been here. It's more apparent today only because our technology is catching up to where we can interact with them in more ways. We are not long from the day that humanity develops its own space travel technology and joins the tremendous spacefaring community that is out there. This is an exciting time to be a human.”
