The party gathered up their things and said farewell to the town of Ironspell. They travelled to the town of Eastpass and spent the night there.
They continued on to The Thirsty Beggar, where they found a larger number of people than were expected. During the evening's rest, they talk to a merchant named Jasper who warns them about a group of bandits that have taken over the river crossing.
The party headed to the river crossing where they saw four bandits manning the station. After crossing to the other side where the bandits are, Tuotatm cast a Detect Thoughts spell to better understand the bandits' motivations. However, his target shook off his probe and his spell ended.
After a bit of tension – during which the bandits claimed that they had been hired by the Harra family – the party opted to pay the 4 gold piece toll and move on.
They stopped at the Gilded Dragon for a brief respite before going to the Harra mansion in the hopes of meeting with Athina. While she was not there, they were able to leave a message for her with the servant Aleena.
They next spoke with Duje, who paid them 2 gold pieces each as they had (essentially) fulfilled the contract to find the Doppelganger (from session #3). They also reported the encounter at the river crossing and learned that the bandits had not been sanctioned by the Harras. Duje promised to look into the situation.
As they were also given the location of Athina's apartment in town, they made their way over to see her. She was happy to meet them and learn about their adventure in Ironspell (though the party opted not to talk about the obsidian ritual).
Athina admitted that the mission to Ironspell was an audition of sorts and that she wanted the party to be available for other such missions. As payment for being on call in this way, Athina tells them that she has secured an apartment for them to stay in. And their first mission is to observe her brother, Dimos, who lives in a luxury apartment across the street and down the block from their new location.
They spend the rest of the day buying used furniture and foodstuffs to stock their new apartment.
The party settled in to their new apartment. More furniture and miscellany is purchased. And Iniko brews some Potions of Healing.
