Since Iniko woke up feeling unwell, he stays behind as the party heads out on their quest to map the wilderness. Luckily, Dwern offered one of the guards to accompany them, if they needed additional “muscle”. The guard's name is Rayne.
They choose to explore the Woods above the Keep. There, they meet a small band of Sprites who challenge them to a sparring contest. When the party wins the non-lethal fight, the Sprites tell them about the Hermit who lives nearby and that a strange bell chimes in the valley once in a while.
They head off to the Hermit's shack, where they meet Xanthe. She tells them that the entire valley was constructed magically only two years ago and that the people in the Keep either refuse to believe this or are actively a part of the conspiracy. She also directs them to the Sacred Spring.
At the spring, Amirah jumps into the spring and experiences magical healing, but also an emotional guilt that shakes her to her core. Dravindi gathers some plant cuttings as they seem to be magically enhanced.
On the way back to the Keep, they hear the strange, magical chime and can pinpoint its source – a place that Rayne calls “The Caves of Chaos!”
