Imbo

Imbo is a Halfling Bard Player Character who is a member of the V3 party.

As a young man, Imbo was talented at reading and telling stories, often adding his cousins and other family as major players in classic works. His secret fascination (and where he spent much of his away-from-home reading time) was war and battle. He studied the strategy and tactics of as many nations as he could learn (usually ancient history books – insert victors writing history trope here)

A devout follower of Avandra, Imbo had his heart set on the clergy, and studied under the priests at the local temple. T^hey immediately recognized his speaking skill, so when his final entry exam (to become an Acolyte) was scheduled, the Bishop for the area was called to listen. He did an original prayer on Avandra's will and teachings. He specialized in talking about Avandra's ole as Goddess of Luck It was *remarkably* well received by the worshipers, unlike most final exams which were read prayers, halrting and…dull.

After the prayer, Imbo was taken aside by the Bishop, and told that he would not be entering the priesthood, where his time would be wasted on the early teachings of an Acolyte. “If we wanted a Cult, you would be ideal; but the church feels that you would be best used as a prosteltyzing wanderer, spreading the benefits of Avandra. After a multi-day meditation, Imbo agreed, and left Feather.

When the magic changed, and the gates appeared, he took his walkabout through Mosaî. Bouncing from city-state to another, he worked with local militia or town guard on tactics and the like, after learning the job of the WarBard never his goal, but gave him much opportunity to prosteltyze Avandra, Goddess of Luck)…passing orders from larger to smaller units.– enough to pay bills, make friends, and learn as much about the wars in this area as he could. He has, through time, become an excellent strategist, tactician and historian. Troops under his command were famous for their luck, allowing Imbo to talk at length about Avandra's role as the Goddess of Luck. Curious and pulled only by his desire to learn, he has no driving force behind his activities other than finding opportunity to spread the word, and support his friends and other Hobbits.

This not-quite- settled area, surrounded by three not-quite-friends, give him things to learn, and a job manning a signal tower and train the tiny garrison/squad who usually act as runners or prepapration for larger deployments. There are several such towers around (name of city) with Bards and apprentice bards sending messages to (name of town), or Akersim about approaching raiding parties, forest fires, strange reports from farmers, etc.

He spends his time in the village 'parks' and occasional taverns (free drinks and food for stories), spinning yarns of his seemingly endless supply of Uncles and their adventures. Lately, these have centered around Sigro and Frei, who were famous for their empathy towards large cats (leaving out the tricks parts), which had led him to meet some rather interesting characters lately, and developing friendships. Along with his military income, he made additionalmoney as a gamb ler, which he took to eagerly.

Hobbit, excessively well dressed (most of his income(s) goes into fitting armor, fitted but not ostentatious clothing, charming and bright, Imbo is a Cunning bard, trying to use cleverness and arcane skills. He carries daggers, a wand and small shield (usually equipped), wears chainmail that looks like it was cut just for him, and an odd two-piece horn (assembled, it would look something like a trombone with a fixed slide), whose main purpose seems to be LOUD. When asked about it, he simply shrugs and says “Signal Tower”)

And now, on reaching middle age, he wants to a little less teaching and a bit more doing. He has also decided to write a journal/novel about his life and travels. Hero-for-Hire appeals greatly. As people in trouble are saved, he would discuss the blessings of Avandra. He still considers himself as a cleric of Avanda, more specifically a 'Luck Spinner', a term he coined.

No local home base, but not that interested in overly officious (no fun) or militaristic (that's what he's been doing). His greatest weakness is an almost legendary Vanity. He will always look for things that accent his natural good looks and speaking ability.
