Immenri Campaign Session #21

3 September 1145

Took the two women rescued from the Werewolf bandits to the Harra mansion, where Duje agreed to house them until their curse can be lifted. He also paid the party the reward he promised for the rescue of Mira.

They headed over to visit with Pylrum to better understand how the Werewolf curse can be removed. Since he does not know the spell Remove Curse, he suggested they contact the High Priest, Germot.

At the temple, they met Germot and discussed the situation. He agreed to help and accompanied them back to the Harras where he successfully administered the spell to the two women. After this, the woman Nena whispered something to Duje and he reacted in shock. But the details of this conversation were not revealed at the time.

As Eldana's Alter Self spell was nearing its end, the party briefly returned to their apartment where she could hide out and avoid any unwanted attention.

Back at the Harra's, they met with Duje and Pylrum to discuss how to best deal with the Werewolf bandits. It was agreed that the army could handle the bandits at the outpost and that the party would not be needed. Pylrum suggested that there was “no urgency” and that the curse of lycanthropy could be removed even if a person had already “turned” into a werewolf.

4 September 1145

In the morning, a runner boy arrived with a message to meet Duje at the Harra mansion. There, they were told that people around the city had been keeping an eye open for unusual behavior that might suggest the Doppelganger had returned. A recent report indicated that the Brewer's wife was behaving unusually.

The party went to talk to the Brewer, a man named Aydar – whom Iniko used to work for. Tuotatm cast Detect Thoughts on him and learned that he was worried about “Ziliä”. Iniko explains that Ziliä was the Aydar's first wife and that she had died years ago. His current wife is a woman named Koketso.

They headed over to the city's cemetery to ensure nothing unusual was going on. There, they found that Ziliä's grave was undisturbed.

Back at the Brewery, they visited the adjoining apartment where Aydar and Koketso live. Tuotatm again cast Detect Thoughts and discovered that there are two people present: The wife in the front room and a baby in the back. He then attempted to probe deeper into the wife's mind and discovered that there were two minds in one body! However, she resisted the spell and he was unable to learn any more.

It appeared to be a case of possession – perhaps the ghost of the dead wife in the body of the new. Unsure how to handle this situation, they returned to the apartment to discuss it with Eldana. She suggested that a Cleric might be able to drive the ghost out of the body.

To get a second opinion, they talked briefly with Pylrum – and he said essentially the same thing. So they went to the temple, where the priset, Germot, instructed one of his acolytes, a woman named Elyn, to accompany them.

Elyn worships Hera and her focus is on “family matters”. As such, she knows Koketso and was already concerned since the new mother had not visisted the temple for a week or two. The party approached the apartment, but nobody answered the knock.

When Dravindi heard a baby crying, though, she opened the door and a brief fight broke out. In the end, Koketso was knocked to the ground unconscious and a ghost emerged from her body – and promptly possessed Dravindi!
