In recent years, though, //many// Orcs and Half-Orcs have made the city their home. {{ nargundush.png?400|}} ==== Government ==== Nargundush is ostensibly governed by an arcane sorcerer, a male halfling named Tunbald. He is a loyal follower of King Vyncent and allows the King to maintain a large militia in the city. However, he has significant opposition from the merchant guilds, and his power over the city has waned in recent years. ==== Notable Places ==== * The Cathedral of Eternal Light: An ornate terraced building, dedicated to the Odin and the [[Asgardian]] pantheon. Before the wars, this temple was consecrated to Artemis. (And others before that). * The Castle Ward: The home of Tunbald and his inner circle, along with the headquarters of the City Guard (known as "The Hunters"). * North Docks: The largest docks in the city and the center of merchant shipping activity * Glassquare: The administrative center of the shipping businesses, where the Harbormaster assigns docks and collects Tariffs. * Night Docks: Another set of docks; cheaper and less reputable than the North Docks. * "The Lake": A large water repository adjacent to the Castle Ward. This lake is the main source of water for the city and is sourced from rainwater and springs with a magical enchantment to keep it full and fresh. ===== South Gate Borough ===== ==== Notable Places ==== * The School of Conuum: An infamous school of witches and wizards, known for the living gargoyles which guard its walls. * The Coliseum: A large circular amphitheater, said to be built upon the ruins of the temple of Silvanus, Celtic god of nature and forests. ===== Summer Way Borough ===== ==== Notable Places ==== * Burheue's Smithy: A cluttered blacksmith's workshop, built around a volcanic fissure filled with flames. * The House of Whispers: A large half-timbered theatre, within which time seems to pass more slowly. * The Shrine of Arawn: A bronze statue of Arawn, Celtic God of life and death, said to be sometimes visited by the god himself. ===== Bonesteps Borough ===== ==== Notable Places ==== * Gul Market: A large open-air market, parts of which run 24 hours a day. * The Ghost Quarters: An informal name for a collection of buildings located over what was once a graveyard. While some still claim to see ghostly apparitions, those that actually live there dismiss this as an old superstition. [[dm:Nargundush|DM information]]
