This family is the richest and most powerful family in the city of [[Hookridge]].  The father
rules the city in an Autocratic fashion -- controlling both the powerful militia (including
a standing army and the city guard), and the two largest temples (Ptah and Horus).

The Draytons believe strongly that the old houses deserve to own the new [[Backbone]] and
have resisted (and outright defied) the will of [[Rathwyn]], who wishes to see a more
egalitarian power-sharing arrangement.
