==== Aladar ====
Member of the [[council|council of wizards]] whose specialty is the magic of
life.  He has carried out numerous experiments in his past which have had
adverse effects on his subjects.  He altered [[Neville]]'s mind, giving him
tremendous innate psychic shields, but at the cost of his intelligence.  In
1102, he successfully grew [[Erin]], the first of his four artificial children,
but when his experimental children came with the unexpected side-effect of
rapid aging, he abandoned his research and has devoted all of his efforts
into reversing their aging process.  He lived on an island off the coast of
[[Pleven]] until his death in 1119.  In his later years, he made some (mostly
failed) efforts to recolonize the island.
